PURSUE is the Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters. The public archive is hosted at war.gov/ufo under Department of War branding, with rolling tranches of declassified and historical UAP-related records.

Release 01 launched May 8, 2026. Release 05 posted August 7, 2026. The war.gov/ufo announcement states the fifth tranche released that day and points readers to the Release 05 filter.

The Department of War public statement attributable to Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs and Chief Pentagon Spokesman Sean Parnell says the Department is publishing the fifth release of declassified and historical UAP files as part of PURSUE, that the collection remains on war.gov/ufo, and that additional files will release on a rolling basis.

The archive page states that materials hosted there are unresolved cases, meaning the government is unable to make a definitive determination on the nature of the observed phenomena. Reasons can include insufficient data. Resolved cases continue under separate reporting.

Read the mix carefully. A 1953 film-analysis PDF, FBI artistic renderings of witness descriptions, and 2021 unresolved EO/IR video plus IIR sit in one tranche. Same release tag does not mean same sensor package, same adjudication path, or same origin claim.

Secondary coverage the same day reported about 41 new files spanning documents, images, and videos, with agencies including Department of War, FBI, CIA, State, and Executive Office of the President, and with additional Form 302 interview summaries and other modern videos. Release 05 demand language is heavy on triangle art: FBI-UAP-D025 Airborne Triangle (2002 Afghanistan path) and FBI-UAP-D027 Dark Translucent Triangle (2023 Colorado Springs).

Official product type matters. A digital rendering is an artistic interpretation of a reported object. It is not a FLIR clip, not a radar track, and not a completed kinematics reconstruction.

Form 302 style interview summaries, when present, record what a witness told investigators. They prove that a claim entered an investigative paper trail. They do not by themselves prove the physical nature of the object described.

Safe split: cite the file ID, the agency label, the year, the location, and the product type. Do not upgrade rendering plus interview into multi-sensor proof of exotic craft.

Public extract language includes cold orbs viewed in infrared, approximate lower-altitude speed bands, formation and aggressive maneuver language, and an appearance of reaction to the aircraft firing its main cannon. That is reporter and sensor-operator language inside an IIR, not a finished scientific attribution.

DOW-UAP-PR117 and related video products place unresolved Gulf of Oman 2021 media in the same public tranche. Secondary coverage notes multiple cellphone videos of gunship sensor screens for the same incident cluster.

Official PURSUE status remains unresolved release. Do not import AARO closed-case confidence language onto this cluster unless AARO publishes a separate resolution product that explicitly covers the same media.
